Common Questions
Is beekeeping hard for beginners?
Not at all! Our taster sessions are designed for complete beginners. We handle the technical stuff while you enjoy the magic of the hive.
Is it Safe?
Yes, it's absolutely safe. We provide high quality protective suits. Our skilled hive guides are highly experienced.
Will i get stung?
Our bees are bred for calmness and all possible safety precautions will be taken to ensure you are not stung. If all instructions are followed it's very very unlikely anybody will be stung. This is our job and nobody wants that at work!
What should I wear to the beekeeping experience?
We provide the suit and gloves. You just need to bring a pair of sturdy boots (wellies are perfect) and avoid wearing strong perfumes, as the bees prefer natural scents!
Where is Experience located?
The experience session will be at Cynnon Valley Organic Adventures or Taf Valley Activity Centre easily accessible from Cardiff and the surrounding Valleys.
Can i bring children?
No, this is an adult only experience. We don't have insurance for children unfortunately.
How long are the sessions?
Approximately 1 hour, though maybe a little longer.
When does it start?
Each session will begin at 12:00 or 14:00. If you can arrive 15 minutes early that would be great.
